Self-Guided Field Trips

Content

Want the freedom to explore the museum with your students at your own pace? Book a Self-Guided Field Trip with us! This option allows your class to visit the galleries with the support of yourself and parent volunteers. You can tailor the experience to best fit your class's needs, the curricular outcomes you are focusing on, or a project you want to bring back to your classroom.

Self-guided field trips include:

  • Access to the museum's permanent galleries*
  • A class set of grade-specific work booklets (for grades 2-12)
          - Available in both English and French. Please specify language at time of booking
  • A mystery mission or superhero program (Kindergarten - grade 1)
  • Group arrival and departure support
  • Orientation to the museum explaining the layout and expectations in the museum
  • A designated lunch space
  • Space for coats and bags while students, teachers, and adult volunteers visit the museum

*Our Children’s Gallery is for children 8 years old and under. We ask classes grade 3 and above to not attend the Children’s Gallery during their visit.

New this year:

Kindergarten and grade 1 Self-Guided Field Trips can explore the galleries by playing Museum Bingo! In small groups, students take turns using tools to complete interactive missions throughout the museum. The best part? Return a complete bingo card and receive a prize! Let us know if you’d like to take part at time of booking.
