Conservation — Preserving Alberta's History for Future Generations

Our Conservation Program ensures the long term preservation of the museum's collections through either preventive conservation or treatment conservation.

Preventive conservation enhances preservation by altering environmental parameters, such as relative humidity, light and UV, temperature and pollutants, as well as by maintaining good practices such as Integrated Pest Management and care and handling.

Treatment conservation halts the processes of deterioration and/or improves the condition of an object or specimen through active intervention with its material fabric.
