All our children's programs honour the learning styles of young children and value the importance of play. We view children as capable and competent learners and encourage them to create their own adventures, investigations, and stories.
Visit the Children's Gallery with your family for daily drop-in, hands-on, playful learning. Let your child take the lead, follow their curiosity and enjoy the magic of discovery together. Drop-in programs are free with General Admission. Children and their caregivers are invited to share and explore the Museum together.
Daily Drop-in Programs
- Dig, Dig, Dig Mini-Events (Starting 2019)
We look forward to offering field trips in January. These will feature fresh, new, inquiry and play-based programs that align with concepts/competencies outlined in the new Alberta curriculum and the Early Learning and Child Care Framework for Alberta. They are being built with students and teachers of Alberta and will be piloted in our new building.
Our booked programs allow groups and classes of young children (daycares, pre-schools, Kindergartens, and Grade 1 classes) to participate in Facilitated or Self-Conducted Field Trips.
- Facilitated Field Trips – Book a customized facilitated program for your class. Build your experience from a menu of offered activities and experiences.
- Self-Conducted Field Trips – On a self-conducted field trip, you can lead your class or group on an adventure of your choice through the Museum. Enhance the experience by booking a Museum Toolkit to use during your visit.
